  • Green Skills Gambia is a youth-focused sustainability initiative designed to equip young people with practical skills in environmental stewardship, climate action, and green entrepreneurship.

    The organization had a strong mission and grassroots credibility but needed a clearer brand identity and public-facing communications strategy to support partnerships, funding opportunities, and long-term growth.

    We worked together through a collaborative brand refresh process—clarifying Green Skills Gambia’s positioning, refining its visual identity, and building a cohesive communications system that reflected both its environmental mission and its youth-centered impact.

  • When we began working together, Green Skills Gambia faced a few core challenges:

    • A mission-driven initiative without a clearly defined brand identity

    • Inconsistent messaging across platforms and materials

    • Limited visual cohesion in logos, colors, and layouts

    • Difficulty communicating impact in a way that resonated with partners and funders

    • No structured communications system to support long-term growth

    The challenge wasn’t about intent or impact—it was about clarity, credibility, and consistency.

  • We began with a collaborative discovery process to clarify the initiative’s purpose, audience, and long-term vision.

    Together, we:

    • Clarified Green Skills Gambia’s brand positioning and value proposition

    • Defined a brand voice and messaging framework aligned with sustainability and youth empowerment

    • Identified core audience segments (youth participants, donors, partners, community organizations)

    • Refined narrative pillars around climate action, skills development, and community impact

    • Established visual direction for the refreshed identity

    • Designed a communications strategy to support partnerships, funding, and program growth

    The strategy centered on evolving the brand, not reinventing it—strengthening what already existed while building a future-ready communication system.

  • I translated our shared strategy into a cohesive brand refresh and communications foundation, working closely with the Green Skills Gambia team throughout the process.

    This included:

    • Refining the logo and visual identity

    • Defining brand colors, typography, and visual style

    • Developing a brand voice guide and messaging framework

    • Creating branded templates for digital and print materials

    • Aligning messaging and visuals across platforms

    • Structuring communications assets for donor and partner engagement

    • Supporting storytelling for programs, workshops, and community initiatives

    • Coordinating creative assets to ensure consistency and quality

    Throughout the process, I acted as a strategic partner and creative integrator, facilitating feedback, managing iterations, and ensuring that every asset reflected both the initiative’s grassroots authenticity and its long-term growth goals.

  • The brand refresh resulted in a stronger, more cohesive public presence for Green Skills Gambia.
