The Girls’ Agenda

Non-Profit Organization
Role: Assistant Communications Manager

The Girls’ Agenda is a leading gender advocacy organization in The Gambia, focused on advancing girls’ rights, leadership, and civic participation through policy advocacy, community engagement, and youth-led programming.

As Assistant Communications Manager, I led the organization’s multi-channel communications strategy, shaping how its work was positioned publicly across digital platforms, campaigns, and stakeholder communications. My role spanned campaign planning, content strategy, social media management, media engagement, donor communications, and partnership outreach.

I designed and executed national awareness campaigns, increasing public understanding of girls’ rights, leadership opportunities, and youth civic participation. I also played a central role in building and managing partnerships with donors, media outlets, and community organizations, helping expand the organization’s reach and secure sustained program visibility.

Key contributions included producing impact-driven reports, advocacy toolkits, press releases, and donor communications; directing digital strategy that grew online engagement; and supporting policy and advocacy campaigns that positioned The Girls’ Agenda as a leading national voice on gender equality.

Through intentional storytelling and strategic communications leadership, I helped strengthen the organization’s credibility, expand its audience, and deepen trust with stakeholders, partners, and funders.

How this shapes my client work today:

This experience reflects how I support advocacy organizations and mission-driven brands with messaging, campaign strategy, donor communications, and partnership outreach, a core part of my consulting work today.
