  • Ed-Technical is a podcast series exploring the real impact of artificial intelligence in education.

Hosted by former teachers Libby Hills (Jacobs Foundation) and AI researcher Owen Henkel, the podcast brings together leading experts to help educators separate meaningful insights from AI hype. Each episode tackles practical questions such as “How does AI actually support students and teachers? What do we truly know about this technology—and what remains speculation? And when we talk about “AI in education,” what are we really referring to?

While the podcast had a strong intellectual foundation and compelling hosts, it needed a clearer public presence, consistent branding, and a structured growth strategy to build audience, credibility, and long-term partnerships.

Rather than treating this as a one-off marketing task, we worked together through a collaborative launch and growth process, clarifying the podcast’s identity, refining its voice, and building a digital ecosystem to support sustained visibility and professional reach.

  • When we began working together, Ed-Technical faced a different kind of challenge:

    • A high-quality podcast with limited visibility beyond audio listeners

    • No consistent social media presence to support discovery

    • No short-form video system to repurpose episodes into shareable content

    • Missed opportunities to reach educators, policymakers, and edtech professionals on LinkedIn and YouTube

The challenge was about distribution, discoverability, and scale.

  • We began with a collaborative discovery process to clarify growth goals and audience priorities.

    Together, we:

    • Identified LinkedIn and YouTube as the core platforms for expansion

    • Clarified audience segments (educators, policymakers, edtech founders, researchers)

    • Designed a short-form video strategy to turn long episodes into engaging snippets

    • Built a content framework to highlight key insights, quotes, and moments from each episode

    • Defined a consistent visual and storytelling style for social content

    • Created a posting rhythm to support steady audience growth

The strategy centered on extending the life of each episode and building a recognizable, professional digital presence that could grow alongside the podcast.

  • I translated our shared strategy into a cohesive social media and video growth system, working closely with the hosts throughout the process.

    This included:

    • Creating and launching the Ed-Technical Podcast LinkedIn page from the ground up

    • Building a targeted educator and tech-focused audience network

    • Designing and executing a structured social media content plan

    • Producing press materials and creating episode graphics and visual templates

    • Writing optimized social media copy aligned with the podcast’s voice

    • Editing short-form video snippets from podcast episodes for LinkedIn and YouTube

    • Uploading and optimizing full episodes and clips for YouTube discoverability

    • Aligning messaging and visuals across platforms for consistency

    • Building a repeatable content pipeline to support ongoing posting

Throughout the process, I acted as a strategic partner and creative integrator, facilitating feedback, managing iterations, and ensuring that every asset reflected both the podcast’s intellectual depth and its long-term visibility goals.

  • The social-first growth strategy resulted in stronger discoverability, clearer positioning, and measurable audience expansion beyond audio platforms.

    Key outcomes included:

    • Successful launch of the podcast’s LinkedIn presence

    • Establishment of a YouTube channel to support long-form and short-form video discovery

    • A 30% increase in follower growth and audience retention

    • Stronger community engagement and brand recognition

    • Expanded reach among educators and edtech professionals

    • Improved discoverability of episodes through short-form video snippets

Most importantly, the podcast moved from being audio-only to becoming a multi-platform thought platform with a sustainable digital presence.
